Ruby on Rails for Java Programmer [Cancelled]
(This presentation was cancelled)
Ruby on Rails is the latest web framework that is taking the
development community by storm. It combines the power and
expressiveness of Ruby with a full stack, MVC based framework aimed at
making the typical database-backed web application easy. It uses
convention over configuration (no XML!) and was created to keep the
developer happy instead of the compiler or vendors.
In this presentation we’ll take a whirlwind tour of Ruby before doing
a quick demo app in Rails. We’ll talk about why you should care about
Rails, what its not good at right now, and what Java developers can
learn from Rails and start applying today.
